Daniel C. Greenwood (Raleigh) is a New York-based American tenor specializing in comic opera. Acclaimed by the New York Times for his “robust voice and agile singing, Daniel has made frequent appearances with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players in The Sorcerer, Trial By Jury, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, Ruddigore, Iolanthe, The Yeomen of the Guard, The Gondoliers, and The Grand Duke. When not doing hornpipes in English comic opera, Daniel also dons flimsy disguises in Italian comic opera including Barber of Seville and La Cenerentola, with additionally forays into Yiddish comic opera with the National Yiddish Theater Folksbiene. Daniel has appeared internationally in tours of the UK, Canada, as well as the Verbier Festival (Switzerland) in Il Tabarro, Fidelio, and Le Damnation de Faust. He has also performed regionally in New England in many musicals, and is thrilled to be making his Odyssey Opera debut. His favorite dual role is that of husband and father.
