Happy National Coloring Book Day!
Originally designed for aristocrats to practice their painting skills, coloring books have existed for hundreds of years as both an educational tool and a relaxing pastime. With the invention of crayons in the early twentieth-century, coloring books, once an activity enjoyed by all, became ubiquitous with the cartoons and sticky-fingers of early childhood. Now, adult coloring books are experiencing a renaissance as mental health and art therapy experts have touted their anxiety-reducing benefits and intellectual advantages such as increased focus and improved organizational skills. Today we want to celebrate this fun and creative art form with a few illustrations from our upcoming season, just waiting for you to add some color!
